EQUIPMENT OPERATORS – ROAD MAINTENANCE

Full time Seasonal positions available for the following areas:

  • Innisfail, AB
  • Ponoka, AB
  • Olds, AB
  • Crossfield, AB
  • Rocky Mountain House, AB

Mains Duties & Responsibilities:

We are looking for reliable individuals who will be responsible for operating heavy equipment. These position is part of Alberta Highway Services Ltd. Maintenance Department. These will require travelling in and around the shop area. As an equipment operator you will be responsible for running and maintaining the equipment used for daily company operations. In doing so you will be providing essential services by ensuring effective and efficient operations can be completed.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED an asset
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 3 or 1 with Air Brakes) with a recent 5 years abstract with reliable transportation
  • Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator is mandatory
  • Operating and maintaining Snowplows, Loaders or Tandem Axle Gravel Trucks
  • Grader experience is an asset
  • Road construction experience is considered an asset
  • Must be willing to relocate close to the shop (less than 30 minutes as per contract agreement with Government)
  • Able to work in uncertain outdoor conditions and be able to work overtime hours when required
  • Have a willingness to work physically in a team environment by assisting co-workers with other duties as needed
  • Must be able to write, read and communicate effectively in English
  • Experience with safety regulations and safe practices
